Dear Gary: I have a 30th anniversary Lynyrd Skynyrd Les Paul and would really like you to sign it. I play it a lot( when I plug in)And play a Mostly LS music on it. I plan on keeping it til I die. Would you be coming up here to see the Hawk anytime soon. I live near him. I wanted to see you last year when you played Toronto but was working nights and couldn’t afford to take the night off ( due to lay offs ). Watching Free Bird the movie as I write this and you guys had so much energy. You where and still are AMAZING. Without Billy it may be hard to carry on, but I hope you will.
Please let me know if you’ll make it to Stoney Lake and Ronnie’s home anytime soon so I can take my Les Paul there to have you sign it. It would mean a lot to me and I would greatly appreciate it and treasure it.
Sincerely yours
Wayne Fortnum

Hi Gary
As I have just turned fifty I was asked who was the most influencial person/s in my life and the first thing I came up with was Skynyrd and all of your music over the past 30+ years that I have had the privilidge to listen to. I am in Australia and I can tell you yours Ronnies Allans Billys Eds leons and Arts music have left their mark on many thousand Aussies and in my generation you guys are still regarded as the most influential band of our time. The only true regret I have is that you never toured Australia.
I would from the bottom of my heart like to thank you and skynyrd for provideing the greatest memories times and happiness I will always regard you guys as the greatest band ever and the Freebird solo at Knebworth as the most awe inspiring piece of live music ever to have been seen and heard.
God bless and Thankyou for the memories I am truely priviledged.

Met Gary and Skynyrd in Tokyo during the ’91 tour. Gary was such a gentleman, walked up to my girlfriend and I and introduced himself (pulling his hair out of his face). Remembered us the next night when we were backstage (they played 3 nights). Whatever in-fighting and personal problems the band has had over the years they’ve always been very gracious towards their audience. Great tone, great phrasing, great vibrato- Gary Rossington is up there with his hero Paul Kossof.

I hope Gary reads my lines.I have a peculiar story for him.i’m a musician thanks to Lynyrd Skynyrd.I grow up listen Skynyrd and became a musician, i’m the leader of a new rock band.but i’m came from a not rocker land, where not plays worldwide bands,no rock radio stations,i’m in US right now to promote my music and would like to Gary be hear it.i been worry about all the big stars of the rock n’ roll are dying and it push me to compose.I’d like to see Gary (who is original skynyrd member)face to face and tell my whole peculiar story.A big dream for me!.I was born by the last year of Ronnie with the band, and soon i’ll go to Jacksonville to breathe the air or this special town.THANKS

Did Gary ever play with Alice Cooper? I found a you tube video and the bass player is a dead ringer for Gary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXZcJojTucg

We saw you twice in the 70s’ both times at the Mid South Colosium, I am 58 old school. I remember Ronnie, Artimus, Billy,Allen,Steve, Cassie, Leon it was a great tragedy that happened and I will never forget it as long as I live. Gary keep on Rockin, your the best. Gary have you ever given any thought to team up with Joe Walsh for just a guitar playing session? You Two are my all time favorites, even though your styles are different you to GREAT.
